- hi, i'm back with the news:
-
- First, french mag ST Magazine published a half page about Bad Mood in
- their February issue. There is the beautiful title pic, along with the
- original doom title pic, and a snapshot of the textured version
- presented at the Atari show in Paris in december. Unfortunately, the
- picture shows a poor 3.7 fps, which some people started criticise on a
- french network (the Minitel, which is a very poor videotext, slow network
- system we got here in France, made by France Telecom, which allows to
- have a mail box with internet access). I left a message on the server
- where i read this, saying that the rendering is done now by Doug and is
- using the DSP and is much faster.
- Anyway, it's cool they did it. They printed the names of the main people
- in the project and the web address, and mailing-list address.
- That's about it for this.
-
- I contacted the guy that made the french doom we've been talking about since
- last week, friday evening. I told him about Bad Mood, which he only knew
- about since the morning, when he saw it in ST Magazine. He was surprised
- and a bit disappointed to see that some people did the same as he did...
- Anyway, i asked him if he would like to join in, and he said he was ok!
- But, there's gonna be a big problem: he doesn't have any internet access :(
- I told him how to write to the list, via our great (??!!!??) Minitel.
- Apparently he didn't do it yet. I don't know how you're going to deal
- with it. The better would be that Laurent or Bertrand call him and talk
- with him ( i couldn't tell him much about the coding since i do not code
- for the project). So here is his phone number ( he said he was ok that i
- give it here): Patrice MANDIN 51-98-45-73.
-
-
- Last info:
- reading ST Magazine, i realised that they had pretty good programmers
- that write articles for the mag in their crew. I think that most of them
- is joinable by mail. Especially, in their current issue there is an
- article on how to program new VDI drivers. They gave a D2D driver on the
- disk, and said that they wrote a driver that plays MIDI files, one via
- the MIDI plug and expander, and another one using samples, via the falcon
- sound system. And they say the applications are limitless. Couldn't that
- be interesting for Bad Mood? If it is, i could try to find their
- adresses. Their names are: Marc Abramson and Mathis Agopian.
-
- That's all (i think) for the moment.
-
- P.S.: another stupid idea!
- Bad Mood will be finished for the summer, right?
- What about organizing some kind of party somewhere, were Bad Mood could
- be presented, and a giga network-competition could be organized?
- It would be cool. Anyway,
- Bye!
